HEALTH CARE FOR ALL—What We Can Do Now?

HEALTH CARE FOR ALL—What We Can Do Now? On Sunday, June 28th at 2:00 PM there will be a panel discussion held at Mount Washington House in Hillsdale. On the panel will be David Silvert, a retired physician who has practiced in Canada and the United States, Edward Frederick, an administrator with Hudson Health Care, and Elizabeth Bledsoe, Nurse Practitioner at Hillsdale Health Care. Audience participation is encouraged and expected.

Is there a problem with America’s health care system? Does President Obama have a plan to deal with such a problem? What can an individual do about the situation?

This meeting will focus on President Obama’s three principles, (1) Reduce Costs, (2) Guarantee Choice, and (3) Ensure Coverage for Everyone.

There are differing opinions about options and “fixes.” The forces that oppose any change are powerful and well financed, and they are prepared to do major battle with any movement to challenge the current system of health care. The President has asked Congress to create a detailed plan to do just that and we will discuss if, when and how that might be done. All opinions are welcome.

Meet Scott Murphy This Saturday Feb 28th in Hillsdale

MEET SCOTT MURPHY, DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVE

On SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28th, at 3:30PM the people of Hillsdale and Copake will have the opportunity to meet SCOTT MURPHY, the Democratic candidate for Congressman in the Special Election on March 31st.

Come one, come all! And bring your questions and concerns with you. He wants to reach out to you in person.

KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND has moved up to the Senate, a great thing for Hudson Valley citizens. Who will fill her seat in the House of Representatives? SCOTT MURPHY is the unanimous choice of all of the 20th district County Democratic Party Chairs, and an excellent one he is! Young, very smart, very successful, and with political experience and great connections, he is a fresh wind in the political world, a suitable substitute for the amazing Kirsten, with the same enthusiasm, energy, and understanding of the needs of the people of the 20th district. He is a wonderful alternative to the stale, inactive, same-old-thing candidate of the opposition, and carries no stain of partisanship and lassitude that come with 36 years in the Assembly. Check out his story and ideas in this website, http://www.scottmurphy09.com/ and whet your appetite for a face-to-face with Scott on Saturday.

The event will take place in the Gallery at B&G Wines and Gourmet, 2633 State Route 23 opposite the IGA market. Parking will be at the Library lot, the IGA lot, or the Mt. Washington lot, not at B & G. There will be wine, soft drinks, cheese, fruit, a real bonanza! Save the time slot, next Saturday at 3:30PM. Meet all your friends and meet SCOTT MURPHY. BE THERE!!!
